Conquer Stress and Anxiety with Scripture
One of the things that people, who suffer from anxiety, want the most is peace.
I have wanted that for most of my adult life. Before Jesus, I would have been skeptical of anyone who told me it was actually possible. Now, I know the power of God’s word.
In this post, I am going to provide you with a list of bible verses that helped me to find rest in God’s word and come to a place of peace.
Remember that God has not given us the spirit of fear but of power, love, and a sound mind.
Biblical Affirmations, Truths & Guidance
These are a list of verses that can either be used as daily affirmations or as reminders to yourself about how Jesus has saved you. A few of them also offer practical tips to deal with worry and anxiety, such as helping others and focusing on gratitude.
It is important to note that no verse exists in isolation. I’d like to encourage you to go back to the Bible and read the verses that stand out to you in context so that you can better understand the whole picture and the meanings behind each verse.

Psalm 23
I’ll end off with not just a bible verse, but a whole Psalm! This Psalm has been my go to ever since I first read it. It reminds me that Jesus has got me and it helps me to surrender all my plans and worries to him.
‘The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
for his name’s sake.
Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
forever.’
Final Thoughts: Remember and Lean on These Spiritual Truths
You may have noticed that I included many verses from the book of Psalms in this post. Working through the book as a whole has really shifted my mindset and brought calm into my life. I really encourage you to read through it and find the verses that stand out to you and the Psalms that you can go back to again and again whenever you need it.
I hope that many of these bible verses will be ones that you can go back to when you need them. I pray that they heal your mind, calm the anxiety, and remind you how much God loves you.
Remember to be patient with yourself and to trust your Creator. Living a life full of peace is a process. It didn’t happen overnight for me. It started with small moments. Then, the more time I spent reading the bible and praying, the more at peace I felt. Eventually, I learned how to lean on God and surrender everything, which led to peace.
Enjoy the journey.
